An original linocut print of a woman jumping into water under a starry sky. This is one of a limited edition run of 60 hand cut and printed linocuts. Titled ‘Moonlit Joy’ each print comes numbered, titled and signed in pencil by the artist.
Handprinted by Megan Hall of Flotsam Prints, Megan says;
"I love a night swim but due to poor eyesight and trouble timing waves I can't see, I much prefer the still waters of lakes and quarries which is what inspired this piece".
Every step in the process of making the linocut, from drawing and designing, to carving and printing, is done by hand , and as such, every linocut in the edition is completely unique and may vary slightly from the illustration above.
The linocut has been inked in a dark indigo blue and then hand burnished onto special Japanese Shoji printing paper.
Printed image size is 25 x 20 cms. Paper is approximately 35 x 29 cms.
